Kirsten is a young woman passionate about making education accessible for all, not just the privileged few, and championing just & inclusive leadership in the Philippines. At only 20, she has had immersive experiences working for high government offices in the country, the most recent one being in the Senate of the Philippines in fields including but not limited to research, economic development, policymaking, community development, resource mobilization, and youth empowerment.
She is now taking up Masters of Arts in Political Economy with a specialization in International Relations and Development at the University of Asia and the Pacific, where she is also the President of two student-led organizations namely KASANGGA Socio-Political Party and The Model United Nations; these focus on responsible socio-civic and political engagement and diplomacy respectively. Kirsten also formerly served as the Officer-In-Charge News Editor of Balangay by GoodGov PH, a youth-led, non-profit organization that aims to pursue good governance in the Philippines.
Currently, she is a part of an esteemed 4-Year leadership program by Kalinangan Youth Foundation Inc. (KALFI), specifically aiming to shape proactive yet empathetic women leaders for the future. Through this program, she is able to serve far-flung communities in Urban Service Projects, reaching indigent girls from deep rural areas of the Philippine islands. At the peak of the Covid-19 Pandemic, she was a part of an initiative to operate a community pantry and lead in mobilizing the volunteers to aid thousands of individuals because I believe that food security will always be worth fighting for.
Kirsten believes in sustainable leadership wherein by continuing to strive to be good leaders, we should be creating greater leaders right before us.
